About Kris

A Veteran Who Found Her Voice β€” and Used It

Kris Cravens-Hutton and her husband Dave are U.S. Army veterans who built one of the most engaged civic communities on social media β€” 2 million followers strong and growing.

Based in Detroit's Indian Village neighborhood, Kris became a national figure when she began pushing back against online harassment targeting her LGBTQ+ neighbors. What started as a neighborhood dispute over a Pride flag became a platform that reaches millions with a clear message: allyship is active, not passive.

She's been recognized by the U.S. Senate, profiled in national press, and tapped as a model for how straight allies can show up meaningfully for the LGBTQ+ community. Her audience isn't passive β€” they donate, organize, vote, and act.

Kris is a graduate of IU South Bend's Women's & Gender Studies program and uses her academic background to bring intersectional analysis to accessible, viral-ready content. She doesn't just entertain β€” she mobilizes.
